SaveScrn - Windows NT screen-saver launcher 9/28/94
This is a simple utility that causes the screen saver to be started. If
your screen saver is set up to be password protected, this has the additional
effect of locking your screen. I wrote this since I wanted the functionality
(fewer mouse-clicks than doing Ctl-Alt-Del/Lock Screen, and the screen saver
starts immediately), and I couldn't find such a utility anywhere. I use this
to lock my system quickly when headed out of my office.
This works nicely when launched by RipBar32 (by Jonathan Carroll,
74017.3242@compuserve.com), since this gives single click access to your
screen saver. It can also be launched by a shortcut key combination from
program manager.
Thanks to Alan Phillips (A.Phillips@lancaster.ac.uk), the author of the
Programmers File Editor (PFE), for hints on how to do this.
Source is included. I used a beta version of Visual C++ 2.0, but there
shouldn't be much dependency on that. I have tested it on Daytona Beta I
and II, and expect it should work on NT 3.1 and NT 3.5 (it's not very
complicated ;-)
This program and source code are placed in the public domain (ie, the price
is right!). You may copy and distribute it as you see fit, as long as this
file is included.
Enjoy!
